ATL Tinkerpreneur – 2024
Context:
The Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog, announced the commencement of applications for the ‘ATL Tinkerpreneur 2024’.
- ‘ATL Tinkerpreneur 2024’- is a flagship summer boot camp under AIM’s Atal Tinkering Labs program.
- It is open to all schools across India including non ATL school.

- Program Duration: Spanning 40 days from June to July, the virtual boot camp aims to equip students with essential digital skills and frameworks for developing their own online ventures.
- Mentoring and Expert Sessions: Participants will receive mentoring from AIM’s dedicated mentors under the ‘Mentor India Initiative’ and will engage in expert sessions on digital, product, and entrepreneurship skills.
- Previous Editions’ Success: The previous editions saw over 5000 team innovations, with the top 100 teams receiving internship and funding opportunities from the Indian School of Business (ISB).
- New Additions for 2024: The 2024 edition introduces the Tinkerpreneur Comic Book series and flashcards for easy concept revision, developed by TinkerChamps, a student-led non-profit club.
Atal Innovation Mission (AIM)
- The Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) was launched by the Government of India in 2016.
- It was aimed at fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship nationwide.
- AIM’s primary goal is to build and nurture an innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem across various levels, including schools, universities, research institutions, MSMEs, and industries.
- AIM utilizes real-time Management Information Systems (MIS) and dynamic dashboards to systematically oversee and manage its initiatives.
- NITI Aayog is the implementing agency responsible for executing AIM’s programs and initiatives.
- AIM has introduced several key programs to stimulate and support innovation:
- Atal Tinkering Labs: Fostering creativity and innovation in school students.
- Atal Incubation Centres: Supporting start-ups and entrepreneurs with infrastructure and mentoring.
- Atal New India Challenge: Encouraging technological innovations that address societal challenges.
- Mentor of Change Program: Connecting innovators with experienced mentors.
