A three-member delegation from the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) visited Southern Naval Command, Kochi, and the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala.

  • The visit aimed to enhance military training exchanges between India and Jordan, following a decision made during a consultative meeting on defence cooperation in March 2023.

  • They also toured the indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant and ship repair facilities at Cochin Shipyard Ltd.
  • At the Indian Naval Academy, the delegation shared insights on training methodologies, leadership strategies, and operational experiences.
  • They had firsthand experience of the academy’s state-of-the-art training facilities and engaged in discussions on best practices.

Jordan:

  • Along its western boundaries lies the Dead Sea, while in the extreme southwest, the country boasts a 26-kilometre coastline along the Red Sea.
  • Amman is its capital city.
  • Jordan operates as a constitutional monarchy, with the king wielding extensive executive and legislative authority.
  • The majority of the population, approximately 95%, practices Sunni Islam, alongside a native Christian minority.
