Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar Overview:
- Initiated by the Government of India, the Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar serves as the National Award recognizing remarkable scientific, technological, and innovative endeavors undertaken by researchers, technologists, and innovators.
Award Categories:
The awards will be presented in the following categories:
- Vigyan Ratna (VR):
- Recognizing lifetime achievements and significant contributions in a specific field of Science and Technology.
- A maximum of three awards will be conferred.
- Vigyan Shri (VS):
- Commending distinguished contributions in a designated field of Science and Technology.
- A maximum of 25 awards will be granted.
- Vigyan Yuva Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar (VY-SSB) Award:
- Acknowledging and encouraging young scientists who have made exceptional contributions in a specific field of Science and Technology.
- A maximum of 25 awards will be presented.
- Vigyan Team (VT) Award:
- Recognizing outstanding teamwork in Science and Technology.
- A maximum of three awards will be given to teams comprising three or more scientists, researchers, or innovators who have made exceptional contributions collaboratively.
